This World Water Day atg Evoqua are proud to be able to support Myra’s Wells
With our passion and expertise in water treatment, the atg UV Team are continually looking for ways to support water projects and disadvantaged communities across the globe. This World Water Day, atg Evoqua are proud to be able to support Myra’s Wells and their water projects in Burkino Faso, West Africa.
Burkina is the World’s 4th poorest country. Outside of the capital, Ouagadougou, it’s a different world. There’s no electricity, a real scarcity of water, frequent droughts and failed harvests, little or no natural resources and a short wet season that often includes serious flooding. With support from organisations across the UK, Myra’s Wells Charity identifies villages in need, and facilitates well builds from Borehole drilling and pump installation to final Well Blessings.
atg UV have pledged its support to the village of Bilandori, situated 230km from Ouagadougou in West Africa. With no well and the recent opening of a new primary school, access to clean water in Bilandori is a necessity. atg UV have worked closely with Myra’s Wells to drill a 90 metre deep borehole which provides 100 litres of water per hour and is set to be completed this weekend with the ‘Well Blessing’. In addition, we are delighted to hear that a local doctor hopes to set up a nearby clinic on account of this well.
Clean water is a necessity, and one that should be accessible to everyone. We are proud to support World Water Day, and this year hope to change and improve the lives & wellbeing of so many families in the village of Bilandori.
